There are many exceptional Oregon Coast Bed and Breakfasts up and down the Hwy 101 coastline that are suited for a perfect weekly getaway or weekend of romance. Isolation, beautiful surroundings and the perfect setting are all key elements in finding that special romantic hideaway. The Oregon Coast caters to lovers and a cozy little lover's hideaway is just the ticket. Bed and Breakfasts are like a home away from home, but with pampering on the agenda. On one hand, it's like staying the evening at your favorite Aunt Mabel's house with all the knick-knacks and doilies you can shake a stick at. One the other hand, your old aunt has brought out the fine China for you. Personal robes, in-room whirlpool baths, breakfast served sometimes downstairs in the dining area and other times at your door, private patios, fireplaces, and more are added to the package. The majority of the ones that I've visited are run by husband and wife teams that have renovated a wonderful old home or their private residence to make it even more wonderful. They have then turned it into a seasonal or year-round business which either provides them their main source of income or an extra source. The B&B's that have one to four rooms are referred to as Homestays, while the ones with more rooms are known as Inns. Either way, because of the lesser number of rooms, you will want to make reservations well in advance. The staff often consist of family members who actually live there. Bathrooms are sometimes shared among the guests, but the B&B's today tend to provide you with your own private bathroom. You learned something today, didn't you? ;) You get the best of both worlds with a Bed and Breakfast! If only home was always like this!
