Camping The Oregon Coast

Camping on the Oregon Coast - Yurts

Camping the Oregon Coast can be extremely romantic. Now, don't think of it from a glass-half-empty point of view. I realize that it may be tempting, especially if you didn't care for it as a kid. Join the club. But now that you're all grown up, think of it this way:

  • Snuggling together under the star-filled sky with the sound of the sea, crickets and frogs in the background,

  • A warm fire to roast marshmallows or hot dogs over, as you have great conversation about your plans together,

  • Cozying up together in a sleeping bag and settling down for a peaceful sleep.

Whether you're pulling in with a home-away-from-home RV, roughing it in a large tent, renting a cabin, tepee, wagon or comfortable Yurt, the elements for romance are there: you and your lover. Spend the time getting to know each other for the first time or all over again. Fishing, hiking, bird watching or just talking (long naps are fun, too!), you can use this wonderful time you have to benefit your relationship and grow closer.

With this terrific little book handy, even campers who have never cooked anything more complicated than S'mores can make great meals and snacks over the campfire....more info

Here is some information to provide a wonderful outdoors experience for you:

If you're a military veteran, hop over to the Specials & Deals section to see if you quality for free stay, courtesy of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department.

If you plan to bring along a furry friend (no, I'm not talking about your hairy Uncle Ted!), take a peek at the Guide Book section for information on pets in the parks.

So, be adventurous. Find that Oregon Coast campground or Oregon state park (check in the Guide Books section again) that is perfect for you and spend a relaxing week enjoying the outdoors and the beauty it has to offer.

If you're traveling down the coastline, plan out your itinerary to include a few different site stays. Personally, I was never much of a woodsy-type of guy (my idea of roughing it was a Motel 6 with no remote for the television!), but there are so many cool ways to stay nowadays, that has changed.
