Well my experience at the Oregon Depot Bay "Chowder Bowl" was a very negative one.
When I entered the business I seated myself. Other people came in after me. They were all served their menu's first. The waitress came up to my table. She didn't greet me with a hello, how are you today, NOTHING!
I said to her "that I was here before the other people." She gave me a dirty look and went to get a menu. I said that all I wanted was a bowl of clam chowder, please. She still went and got the menu and placed it in front of me. I said again "All I want is a large bowl of chowder, please!" She rolled her eyes and walked back into the kitchen.
Several minutes later she came out with a bowl of chowder. She never said a word to me. She glared at me and tossed the bowl of chowder down in front of me, like she was slopping a hog. She turned and walked off. I said "What in the hell is your problem?" There was chowder down the side of the bowl, on the table, and there were no napkins given with the meal. Needless to say I was very upset.
I confronted her in the kitchen asking her if I did something that pissed her off for some reason. She ignored me and acted dumb, like she hadn't done anything wrong at all. Well, she had a temper tantrum and I paid for it. LUCKY ME!
I swear that if I ever had an employee that ever treated a customer like this she would have been fired on the spot. I cannot believe that an owner would want someone like this representing their business.
In my opinion, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone! The service alone ruined it for me. I will never be back and I will never send anyone to their business.
Stay away! Don't support a business that treats people like they are doing you some sort of favor by serving you. It is your dollars that keep these businesses alive, and it is your choice to spend your money at an establishment that truly does appreciate your business.
My recommendation for this restaurant is to spend your money somewhere else and don't tip the waitress there...she doesn't deserve it, or her job!
