Hug Portland is a favorite beach of mine along the Oregon coast!

Hug Point was named thus because the early settlers to the area had to "hug" the point at high tide in order to get around it.

Read the tide charts.

Go during low tide and you will see thousands of pink orange and purple starfish and sea anemones, several caves you can go into, and a waterfall that spills onto the beach which you can stand on top of to take photos.

There is one rock formation in a cliff that looks like a giant door to the Netherworld - with a pond below it. Very other worldly and cool.

Hug Point is an amazing place to visit and a great place to visit on the Oregon coast.
