A large rustic log cabin called Morris' Fireside Restaurant sits in the middle of downtown Cannon Beach, on the corner of 2nd and Hemlock. I've eaten there for years and have enjoyed every time. In my opinion, it is definitely one of the best places to eat on the Oregon Coast. There is something about the log interior and large stone fireplace that acts as a plush, cozy blanket. Getting up early in the morning to go grab a hearty breakfast and steaming cup of coffee while you sit nearby the fire makes for an exceptional start to the day. First built in 1921 and owned by Paul Bartel, it originally served the local loggers and was a favorite meeting place to discuss the activities of the day. In 1976, the log building was purchased by Tom and Suzy Morris (hence the name) and enjoyed a surge of new business in the years to follow. Putting a strain on the original cabin, Tom and Suzy had it rebuilt and expanded in 1985. If you enjoy scrumptious breakfasts of omelets, pancakes and more, Morris' Fireside Restaurant will not disappoint. Open from 8:00am to 9:00pm, they also serve lunch and dinner, including nice portions of fish and chips, prawns, steaks, and, and, and. The prices are moderate and the food is yummy, but the atmosphere is the thing that is sure to keep you coming back. It has me. Next time you're in Cannon Beach, stop in and enjoy a great meal. Tell them Romantic Oregon Coast Vacations sent you. ;)
