Port Orford, Crabbing Off The Dock

by David D.
(Pendleton, Oregon)

My wife and I were married May 1st of 2010 and we honeymooned in Gold Beach.

I am an outdoor enthusiast and I loved where we were staying but someone had mentiond crabbing to me and I so wanted to try it. I was able to talk my wife into going and getting a license with me.
In all reality, it wasn't that hard. She was just as excited as I was.

After talking to a real great guy at the Rouge Outdoor Store, we were off to Port Orford to crab from the dock. We had a great time!

There was this seal who kept stealing our bait and, as frustrating as it wa,s he sure was adorable. We didnt catch much and everything we did catch was too small or a female but we had a great time.
