Redfish Loft in Port Orford sits atop the award-winning Redfish Restaurant and overlooks the gorgeous southern Oregon coast waters.
My wife and I recently took a trip down to the southern Oregon coast and decided to rest our weary heads at this amazing ocean-front luxury suite.
Redfish opened it's doors to travelers in August of 2010 and has been providing a natural escape with all the comforts of home ever since. A great perk, as I said, is it's directly above the Redfish Restaurant, where you can grab a delicious bite to eat and then wander next door to the Hawthorne Gallery and check out works of art from all over the country.
Redfish Loft has a lovely view of the rugged coastal waters from a private deck. During the warmer months, you can slide the large glass doors wide open and enjoy the breeze. During the winter times, good times are had by turning on the stylish gas fireplace, making yourself a cup of coffee or tea, and watching the storms rage on.
The LOFT is very clean and contemporary, offering a welcoming king-sized bed, flat-screen television with cable, iPod stereo dock, bamboo hardwood floors, granite cabinet shower and soaking tub in the bathroom, mini-fridge, personal coffee maker, and so much more. Paintings and art work from the Hawthorne Gallery adorn the walls and will make you feel more up-scale than you already will. ;)
Cozy up in the warm robe and slippers provided hanging in the closet and you're all set to curl up with a good book or work on your laptop or tablet, hooked up to their free Wifi connection. If you're insistent on staying put for the day, call down to the Redfish Restaurant and get your meals delivered upstairs to you.
The owner has taken great care to spoil your senses in every way possible while you're here. Nestled in a basket on the refrigerator, you'll find almonds, granola bars, chocolate, fresh-ground coffee, apple cider, and a selection of teas.
The only downside to a stay at The LOFT in Port Orford is that you may get some sound soaking through the floor if they have live music in the restaurant below you. It's not a consistent happening and isn't by any means overwhelming, but I wanted to make you aware of it. If that is something that wouldn't bother you, you're good to go.
Check-in is at 3pm and check-out is by noon. More than enough time to sleep in before you take off to your next destination. ;)
Overall, we had a really nice stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a rest on the southern Oregon coast.
The LOFT is located at 517 Jefferson Street at the far end of town, along Hwy 101. You can get more information right at the Redfish Loft web site.
