So, you decided to take a travel vacation to the Oregon Coast? You've packed up the car, loaded up some snacks for along the way and headed out. The car ride down was hopefully an enjoyable one, filled with fun conversation, maybe some music from the radio and wonderful sights to see. Maybe you stopped off at one of the many fish markets along the way for some smoked salmon jerky and a fresh lemonade. Perhaps a bite to eat at a local restaurant, where the smell of fresh seafood filled the air. Once you're down in the heart of the coastal towns, you park and take a serene stroll along the sand, hand-in-hand, watching a dog play in the tide or a crab scamper across your way. You take your time and search the tidepools for life, study driftwood and discover some very cool seashells. You may venture into some of the attractions along the Oregon Coast like the Newport Aquarium. Are you staying for a night or two or do you have a week or so to explore? Whatever the case, everyone who has ever taken a travel vacation to the Oregon Coast has a tale to tell. Something that stands out in their mind and brings back warm memories. Some of the best times for me has been standing on Newport's Old Bay Front, hearing the toots of the fishing ships, the cries of the seagulls and watching the lazy sea lions that rest on the rocks and the docks. "AR AR AR!" they bellow, claiming ownership of their own spot on the small dock in the water. I can always stand there for hours and allow all my senses to take in everything happening around me.
