Find Oregon Coast Wedding Photographers

Oregon coast wedding photographersMaking a choice of good Oregon coast wedding photographers is an essential piece of any coastal wedding. Getting your wedding captured on film and/or video makes for lasting memories.

Although the merging of new technology and photography has made taking very nice pictures and video something mainstream, placing your wedding videos and photos into the hands of a professional will provide you with piece of mind.

My wife and I have been married since 1985 and are still so thrilled that we decided to invest a portion of our wedding budget on a good wedding videographer (one of my good friends from high school happened to be a photographer, so we had all our photos done for free!). To have all those people in attendance and the entire event frozen in time forever is simply priceless.

The Various Styles of Wedding Photography

There are various styles for Oregon coast wedding photographers to go with. Sitting down with your photographer and/or videographer and discussing the shoot is as important a step to take as with anything else to do with your wedding day, maybe even top of the list. Below is an excellent video to give you some insight into the various styles that a wedding photographer may adopt. It's nice to be informed. ;)

Asking The Right Questions

Oregon coast wedding photosHiring a photographer to photograph your wedding who knows the who, what, why, where, when and how of getting a great shot is vital, so you want to make sure you do your homework and choose someone you mesh well with; someone who really knows their stuff. When it comes down to your special day, there should be no doubt in your mind that this photographer is someone you really like and that he has your best interest in mind.

According to a short article on About.com, here are some good questions for you to ask any photographer as you're shopping around:

  • What’s your primary style? Posed and formal, relaxed, photojournalistic, creative, artistic, candid, traditional?

  • Do you shoot in color or black and white? Or both? Do you shoot in a digital format that can create both color and b/w versions of the same picture?

  • What kind of input can we have on the direction of the shots? Can we give you a shot list to work from?

  • Are you the wedding photographer who will actually take our pictures? If not, can we meet the person who will be?

  • Can we meet any assistants who will also be our taking pictures?

  • How many times have you worked specifically as a wedding photographer? How many were similar to the size and formality of our wedding?

  • Oregon coast wedding photographyHow many other events will you also photograph that weekend?

  • What kind of equipment will you bring with you? How intrusive will lighting, tripods, other equipment or assistants be?

  • Do you develop your own film?

  • Can we buy the negatives from you?

Don't be afraid to ask about anything else that concerns you. It's your wedding and your money.

wedding photographyDon't try to cut costs when making a decision on which photographers to consider. Remember the old saying that you get what you pay for.

A wedding album is something  you will have in your possession for the rest of your life and you want your event to be captured by someone who has all their T's crossed, I's dotted, and you just know will do a good job for you.
